2008 af2 Playoffs delay the Vipers sets

2008 Tennessee Valley Vipers Team Card-
Demetrius Derico
With Saturday's playoff win over the Florida Firecats, the af2 Tennessee Valley Vipers secured their first playoff win since 2003 and moved on to the divisional round where they'll travel to Wilkes Barre to take on the heavly favored Pioneers. With some luck the Vipers will win and the Wolves will upset Green Bay so that the Vipers will host another playoff game on the 16th.

Each home game the Vipers have released a panel of cards. Each panel consists of 4 players cards. This is the reason that the cards have been delayed getting to the collectors. This unexpected playoff run has prompted the Vipers to continue card panels as needed. Last week the Vipers released another panel to the collection and with some luck the Vipers will host conference championship on the 16th and finally the Arenacup.

For the next few weeks we will set our favorite teams aside and cheer for the Vipers (even though me favorite af2 team is still in it). We will keep you posted as to when these sets will be available. Good Luck Vipers!

Anthony Armstrong Makes A 50 Yard Leap!

On July 26th, Anthony Armstrong, a former IFL Odessa Roughnecks and AFL Dallas Desperados wide receiver signed a free-agent contract with the NFL Miami Dolphins.

Armstrong was a key factor in the 2006 Odessa Roughnecks championship team and helped the 2008 AFL Dallas Desperados into the playoffs. The former Texas A&M receiver will have a real shot at a roster spot with the lack of depth at the receiver position for the Miami Dolphins.

The Most Prized Arena Football Card Gets Top Dollar

ditka_front.jpg
Nearly two years ago we were contacted by a collector who recently had come across a 2005 Upper Deck ArenaGraph Mike Ditka #MDA. This collector, Darrell, knew it wasn't as common as the other arenagraphs but wasn't sure of it's availability.

Who's Hot Who's Not

2006 Matt D'Orazio Rookie
Chicago Rush #11

For the second time in as many tries Matt D'Orazio led his team to the Arenabowl and captured the MVP along the way. In D'Orazio's two appearances he played  nearly perfect games. Matt directed his team to 16 touchdown drives (13 passing & 3 rushing) with zero interceptions.
 Who's Hot Who's Not
With Arenabowl XXII past us as well as many championship games of the 2008 Indoor/Arena Football season. We are taking a look back on 2008 to highlight which are the hottest cards and then those that aren't so hot.

Who's Hot
When the 2008 AFL season began Tony Graziani was the face of the AFL, along with his owner. But when Graziani got injured and D'Orazio came in and finished the season with the ABXXII MVP, this locked him in as one of the hottest players cards of the season. Below are a few other hot cards for this season:
1. Matt D'Orazio
2. Chris Jackson
3. Joe Germaine
4. Anthony Armstrong
5. A.J. Haglund

Who's Not
Well, we gave up the number one bust of this year already in Tony Graziani. So we added a few other players that let collectors down.
1. Tony Graziani
2. Sonny Cumbie
3. Sherdrick Bonner
4. Mike Horacek
5. Clint Dolezel
